  • Couples' Night Out

    Couples’ Night Out is a quarterly date night for couples from all Decatur area parishes. It will include a light meal, adult beverages, and a short presentation relating to married life. Cost will be approximately $30.00 per couple for the meal. There will be a cash bar. Mark your calendars for the first gathering on November 7th at 6:30 pm at the Beach House,.and watch the bulletin for more info on gathering to meet and getting to know other couples of all ages from the area.

    The Decatur Deanery Council of Catholic Women will meet at St. John’s in Arcola. Registration will be at 10:00, Mass at 10:30 followed with meeting, lunch, and white elephant auction. All women are invited to come with a friend and bring a wrapped white elephant gift for the auction. All proceeds go to the diocesan seminary fund. There will be information regarding the works of the Council of Catholic Women to take back to your parishes.

    Many thanks for your generous support in the past with filling our holiday baskets. We have placed food baskets in the churches to show what is included in each basket.     Opus 24 will present a concert in St. Patrick Church. Schubert’s Mass in G will be included in the program as well as other selections that focus on the theme of the concert, Joy, Love and Peace. What a wonderful way to celebrate the feast of St. Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians! Tickets are available in the parish office. $10 Adult/$5 Student.

Meals are picked up at DMH along with a detailed description of the route, which takes 1 hour or less to complete. This is a very valued ministry of Catholic Charities that really makes a difference in the lives of their clients. They desperately need this service, and they depend on local churches for volunteers. Please call Patty Anderson at 429-1135 to volunteer one or more days. Thank you!
