  • Film and Discussion - Under Caesar's Sword

    Join Fr. John to watch 'Under Caesar’s Sword', a short film produced by the Notre Dame University Center of Ethics and Culture, The Religious Freedom Institute, and Aid to the Church in Need. It documents responses to Christian persecution. The 30 minute film will be followed by discussion. It begins after the 10am Mass and is in the St. Patrick church basement. It will scandalize you. Then it should inspire you.

    Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will follow our 10am Mass in St. Patrick. At 2pm there will be a service including a procession with the Blessed Sacrament to St. James, ending with Benediction. Vans will be available for those who cannot walk in the procession.

    ROCK! The Rotunda for Religious Freedom. You're invited to the Rotunda of the State Capitol in Springfield, Illinois. Devote an hour to music, prayer, and dialog for religious freedom. Hillary Byrnes, Assistant General Counsel for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) in Washington, DC, will give a powerful witness for Religious Liberty. Join in prayer with Bishop Thomas John Paprocki of the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois. Also, listen to the passionate music of Michael James Mette. Let’s ROCK the Rotunda for religious freedom!

    - Museum of Science and Industry U505 exhibit
    - Urban Kayak in Chinatown
    - Stay overnight in Marytown

    Saturday, July 15:
    - Dine at Texas de Brazil Steakhouse
    - CPX Paintball in Joliet
    - Return to Springfield
